This place is like sort of ask me ...where i can help you , in dressing up for some event ... or maybe just teaming up whole attitre.. you can email me your questions with details about yourself and the event you looking for to go to....

1. Person who sent me a query , has brunch to attend
Her physical attributes are as follows

Medium built ( not skinny)
Petite (not very tall)
Bit heavy on her lower half portion
she is in her early 30`s .

This is the simple look for her , where in we give her a long dress , as not breaking color gives illusion of height , and the sametime since its yellow color which is so very day wear , perfect tone to carry for brunch , and the AND dress has lining till knee so bottom portion is transparent which makes it fun and yes since fabric is flowing and so is the design not so very body con , so it won`t cling at her hip region so cover her problem areas.

The accessories which we want to team it is considering the event since its brunch we don`t want it b bling and too much glam up , it has b easy breezy , comfortable and chic look, so we go for bangles (instead of cuff) but still giving it what it needs and watch in other hand which will also be in shade of gold,and then wearing it with golden flats , as u want to be comfortable so no heels. .....and the best part is saved for last....

Yess our favorite option as always, pop pf color which comes in form of green sling bag and the cherry on the cake will be the glasses which add the right amount of attitude !!!!

2. SHOPPING :HAND BAGS BY SHAUN DESIGNS

I am very much a bag person , for me bag is like most important accessory from utility day bags ( which has EVERYTHING ... not exaggerating i can survive on deserted island atleast few days if i have my day bag..hehe) to night outings which makes it more of fashion statement , for giving that chic feel to pop of color to the hints of metallics...handbags make attire complete

Today i came accross brand (which seemed relatively unexplored so it features in our finds) its called SHAUN DESIGNS they have very indo western feel which makes it perfect to team it with any outfit tunic to little black dress...

Granny approved Home Remedies...:) ( holi spcl )

Festival of colors, joy , fun and i think running away from all inhibtions and just going out and playing like a child is the right spirit of HOLI , go out and enjoy it to fullest...but just ensure to take bit of care as of course it is one of the most fun festival but since we are not assured all going to use natural organic color(which r chemical free )... so its required.

Care to be taken before you go out to play holi :

\SKIN CARE

· Apply moisturiser preferably with SPF as the colors throb the moisture from the skin otherwise it will leave your skin dry , and since you going in be in sunlight for most amount of time and in these sunny days , so you don`t want sunburn…

· Apply thick coat of dark nail polish just as you don`t want the colors to seep in and get those odd colors on fingers.

· Other important thing is apply any lipbalm that also preferably with spf on your lips as well..

· If you someone who wears contact lens , then avoid that day , better to wear specatcles as if bit of color also touches it , it can cause infection and redness in eyes.

Hair care

· This you can`t skip

Apply day before coconut or olive oil and let it stay overnight so that when you play holi the colors don`t go deep inside as that will make them all dry and frizzy .

And other general tip will be to drink water and again that help to avoid the dryness ( I think this article I have overused words moisture and dryness…. I know!!! But can`t emphasise enough as if these care not taken it will really end up dehydrating your skin…)

Please take care of the above things and you all set to play holi….happppy holi!!! ( I love holi )

But wait it does not end here , the skin /hair care has to continue which is more important as you all have experienced the after effects , of getting rid of those colors which can be quite a task …and primemost don`t be harsh on ur skin or hair while removing colors else hair is going to break and just tc of few things

· Don`t use directly soap to remove color, use cleanisng milk or normal cold milk or baby oil if you have to remove color from the face.

· Apply olive oil on legs and hands and keep it for some time then you can wash colors with gram flour (besan as we call it) or if u just have to use , use very mild soap ..like baby soap. Use cold or lukewarm water not very hot water

· Same applies for hair , first apply oil then wash it with very mild shampoo .

· And try and use some natural facepacks so that your skin is soft .

You can use these face masks

· Pack for dry skin:
1 tsp almond powder
2 drops lemon juice
little milk
Make a paste of all the ingredients and apply it your face. Let it stay for 20 minutes. Wet your hand with little water and try to rub offthe pack from the face. This will make your skin soft and clean.

· Pack for oily skin:

1 tsp Masoor Dal
dried Orange peel
1 tsp rose water
2 - 3 drops lemon juice
Make a paste of all ingredients and apply it to the face. When the pack gets dried, apply some water on your hands and then try to rub off the pack.

And atleast for a week try and avoid any beauty treatments m even threading no… and same applies for hair don`t blow dry or go for any treatments atleast for a week .

1. FOOD : RECIPIES BY cookingshooking

My first favourite find ( the foodie in me loves this one , so got to start with this) is this youtube channel and also website called cookingshooking .
Of course like most of u i am die hard tarla dalal, sanjeev kapoor fan and they are just beyond awesome... and in this times of so many food channels and shows dedicated to creative innovation i liked the concept of cookingshooking because of its simplicity.

Bit about the new find( as i like to call it ..hehe) its by teen chef called yaman, and the simplicity in his cooking makes it quick ( which all of us want ..right ) and they turn out really well ...i have tried some and they really yummy and other thing is he shows as making things like cream cheese to bread to muffins everything at home and baked things like cake and muffins in pressure cooker ...i know it was unbelievable.

Below i am posting my favorite cheeese cake (yum yum..my sin food ...) just i had tried it without rasgulla and yet it turned superb...u can check his videos and site for many more recipes...

Blueberry n Rasgulla Cheesecake with Hazelnuts Recipe

Ingredients

Biscuits - 120 Gms
Melted Butter - 75ml (More or less)
Cream Cheese - 200g
Powdered Sugar - ⅓ Cup
Whipping Cream - 300ml
Condensed Milk - 200ml
Agar Agar / China Grass - 10g
Blueberries - 3 Tbs or more (I used Dried, hence soaked overnight in ½ cup water)
Hazelnuts - 3 Tbs
Mini Rasgullas - 25-30 or more

Instructions

Start by taking the biscuits and crush them until they resemble bread crumbs. Slowly pour in the melted butter and mix until it feels like wet sand.
Transfer the biscuit and butter mix to a 9" Spring Form Cake Tin and press down using a glass until its flat and smooth. Refrigerate.
Soak the agar agar in ⅓ cup of water for 15 minutes.
Whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks.
In a mixing bowl, add the cream cheese and powder sugar. Whip it well until creamy and smooth.
Take a pan and heat it up in low flame, add the soaked agar agar and cook it until it is well dissolved and no traces are seen.
Warm the condensed milk in a pan, Once the agar is dissolved, add the agar mix to the hot condensed milk. Stir well and cook for 2 mins. Let it cool down a little bit.
Once the condensed milk+agar mix is hot but not boiling, pour it over the cream cheese mix and whisk well. You can sieve the condensed milk mix into the cream cheese mix rather than just pouring, but its optional.
Add the berries and hazelnuts and mix well. You can also add a little bit of the soaked berry water for more flavor and color.
Now add the whipped cream and rasgullas. Fold it well, do not mix it vigorously.
Add the cheesecake mix to the cake tin and spread it well. Refrigerate overnight or for 10-12 hours and serve.
For Serving, Run a small knife over the edge of the cake tin to seperate the cake from the tin. And open the tin. Decorate as you wish and enjoy!

Notes

I decorated the cake with soaked berries, whipped cream, rasgullas, hazelnuts, blueberry syrup and a sprig of mint. For the blueberry syrup, i did a cheat by add 2 tsp of sugar to the blueberry water(the one we had soaked berries in) and reduced it by cooking till it was thick and used it after it cooled.

Also just so you don`t have to hunt through out the site below is the cream cheese recipe which is also from cookingshooking site

Ingredients

Fresh Paneer/Cottage Cheese : 400 Grams
Plain Yogurt : ¾ Cup [Appx]

Instructions

Grate/crumble the paneer. Now add half of the yogurt and paneer to the blender jar and blend it.
If required, add more yogurt to make a absolutely smooth paste.
Transfer the paste to a Cheesecloth/Muslin cloth which is lined above a colander/strainer and the strainer is above a bowl.
Refrigerate this setup(:P) for a minimum of 48hrs, dumping the water which is collected in the bowl every 12hrs or so..
After 2-3 days, your Cream Cheese is ready. Use it as you prefer :)

You can replicate such kind of stunning look by teaming a solid black dress with turquoise neck piece ( don`t compare your look to cate ...but you will look beautiful in our own way)te Blanchett y

Few things to be kept in mind while recreating this kind of look

don`t go crazy with accessories... rememeber you want just pop of color (in this case statement jewellery) you don`t want to look like crayon box full of colors...

if your fair then i would recommend nude makeup like in the picture or else go for some bit of color on lip or the smoky eyes( which are my all time fav. we will soon tell you how to do that as well)...but again remember one of either (smoky eyes or dark lips)

2.Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph & Russo

The one shouldered dress i absoultely loved was for the beautiful soft color .... such soft pallete can be worked upon for romantic to elegant feel....

For channeling this look ( or recreating this look , i have worked upon on my comfort zone so i have picked soft pastel color long dress but not one shouldered.... but you can definately replicate the one shoulder effect if thats within your comfort ...

This dresses from jabong are in soothing pastel color ,the flow and right amount of softness..

and the presence of sleeves and the long length makes it so more weareable .

Just the small difference i would put to channel the look is change of accessories... keep in mind few things...

since gwyneth had a floral big accent on the shoulder so she took it easy and make up... if your dress also has accents like bow on the dress then go easy on the accessories.
accessories i am going bit of indian route so teaming with some those kind of options...but yes you can choose diamonds as you cant go wrong with them...(they are gals best friends for a reason ...hehe:)
have added cluth as dresses above has self texturing or embroidery ...so wanted to add bit of color ( u must have guessed by now am coloroholic ...i just made that word..yay..

Absoulutely love jennifer in this stunning yellow dress ( yellow always just reminds me of summer) , perfect time to wear this color .

Yellow chirpy just love everything about this dress the silhouette which is not very body con yet nicely structured... i can so see myself wearing it and styling it just like jennifer emerald green earrings and gold belt .

since the dress itself is vibrant keep the make up simple not too loud lipstick.
also if u adding a different color in form of earrings , don`t add one more bright color in form of belt.. since gold thin belt will blend in and yet be in sync with gold from earrings.

there were lot of other stars who were on my favourite list Scarlett Johansson with the beautiful green colored gown (minus the neck pc of course) ,Lupita Nyong in the pearl dress , Jennifer Aniston ( or Rachel Green as we know her ) , Emma stone in that beautiful lime green in embroidery which was to die for... there were lot of stand outs....

but of course my mossstttt favourite was J.Lo ohhh she looked stunning , color beautiful intricate embroidery and everything was just gorgeous...and of course kudos to j.lo for carrying off the decolletage neckline...but we taking about j.lo here she has carried off riskier outfits with lot of ease
